Walter LeRoy Berrey, 49, of Sedro-Woolley went to be with his Lord on Monday, February 11, 2013.

He was born in Groton, Conn., on April 22, 1963, to Lee and Carol Berrey. He graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1981 and joined the United States Navy where he served in the Submarine Service on both the east and west coasts, until he retired in 2001.

He then served as Youth and Assoc. Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church, serving his Lord teaching youth & children. He also worked with Skagit Co. ESD, OSO Lumber, Walmart and was active with the Cub Scouts, Troop 4316.

In 1984 he married Jana Sutton and they raised 3 children, Allison & (Adam) Rosenfield, Brandon & (Amanda) Berrey & Charles Berrey; grandchildren, Jackson, Teyla, Danica & Lucas Rosenfield, Landon & Cooper Berrey. Also surviving is father, Lee Berrey; brother, Jeremy & (Hayley) Berrey; sisters, Wendi & (Robert) Lind, Stacey & (Bill) Zilinek, Dorothy & (Dave) Jacobs; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Walt was preceded in death by his mother, Carol.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 11am at Calvary Baptist Church, 324 Avon Ave., Burlington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to Jana Berrey c/o Skagit State Bank, Burlington branch.
