Becky DeBlasio, 61, died 3/30/13 in Kula, Hawaii.
The Guest Book is expired.
She was born in Santa Rosa, CA to Roger and Gretchen Boehm and was an army brat for the 1st 8-9 years of her life, living in the US, Japan, and Germany.
Returning to the US, she grew up in Santa Rosa, graduating from Santa Rosa High School in 1970.
Music was central in Becky's life. She played piano, cello, and was always singing. Thinking of her life without music is not possible. She attended NTSU in Texas to further her cello studies, and married Behrouz Sardarabadi in the late 70's.
After traveling throughout the US, she moved to Mount Vernon, WA, where she worked with the developmentally disabled and then at Pioneer Center North in Sedro-Woolley. She also played cello in the Skagit Symphony. When Victor Borge was a guest conductor she wore a chicken costume as she played "The Swan" at at their dress rehearsal. His response: "Now that's funny! As with music, humor was also integral to Becky. She always had a funny story, a good joke, and loved to laugh. If you needed a spark for your party, she could make it happen. She had a beautiful smile and spirit.
After amicably parting ways with Behrouz, Becky met John DeBlasio, who truly was the love of her life. She moved to Hawaii to be with him, marrying him in Maui. The two of them relocated from Hawaii to Washington, Utah, Pennsylvania, and then back to Hawaii, settling in the high country of Kula where deer and pheasants visited her yard frequently. She loved flowers and her yard and house reflected that love.
Friends and family were so very important to Becky. She loved to talk with all - if there was something happening of importance one could always call her, as she would know the details, and who needed help. She was generous with her love and would open her house to all visitors. She would also feed you, regardless if you were hungry or not.
Becky left behind many people who miss her dearly: her husband John, sister and brother-in-law Jenny and Chip Bergeron, niece and nephew-in-law Laura and Corey Henderson, step-son Alex DeBlasio, step-daughter Crystal LaDue, grandson Jacob LaDue, and all her friends and extended family. She will be welcomed by her Nana, Mom, and others that have passed, and will be happily sitting in the smoking section with her Dad!
Donations in her name can be made to: The Skagit Symphony, PO Box 1302, Mount Vernon, WA 98273
There will be a remembrance gathering at the Bergeron's on April 28th in the afternoon at 21184 Swan Road, Mount Vernon, WA.
