Ed Walker, 89, passed away peacefully June 16, 2013 at his home in Mt. Vernon.

Ed was born in Mt. Vernon August 31, 1923 to Bruce and Treva Walker. His 89 years were spent in Skagit Valley living the Valley pleasures to the fullest. There he met his Valley girl Eldora Alm whom he married July 9, 1948.
Ed served 3 years in the US Army with Alaska Communications and than on to the Whidbey Island Naval Air Station for the next 33 years as a Communications Specialist. He was also an electrician and wired many homes in the Skagit Valley.
Ed loved family and close friends, volunteering at his church and for the community. His hobbies of hunting and fishing he shared with his family and friends, especially the once a year hunting trip to Eastern Washington with life long pal Dick Johnson, this yearly event continued for 60 plus years.
Ed is survived by his wife Eldora of 65 years, daughter Diane Schuh, son Bob, daughter-in-law Sue, grandchildren Sara Schuh, Danny Schuh and wife Kate, Mario Thomas and wife Sue, Rae (Summer) Thomas, great-grandchildren Clarysa Thomas, sister-in-law Marguerite Johnson and many beloved family members.
He was preceded in death by his son Bruce son-in-law Bill Schuh, parents Bruce and Treva brother Elmer and Ed's big sister Evelyn Bunten who passed away suddenly Wednesday, June 12, 2013 just 4 days before her little brother Ed Johnson.

Ed's memorial service will be held Saturday, June 29, 2013, 1:30pm at the First United Methodist Church, 1607 E Division St., Mt. Vernon.
