R. Carolyn "Carol" Salseina, 78, a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident, passed away at her home on Thursday, August 15, 2013.

Carol was born on February 20, 1935 in Port Townsend, WA, the daughter of Jewel & Ruth (Blanchard) Mosley. She was raised and attended school in Chimacum, Washington, graduating from Chimacum High School with the class of 1953.

Carol was united in marriage to Frank Salseina on January 28, 1957 in Quilcene, Washington and they made their home on the Olympic Peninsula until moving to Edmonds in 1960. While in Edmonds, Carol was an active member of the St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church, singing in the choir and teaching art classes at the church, she was a carpool mom for kids at the catholic school and she was a Brownie & Girl Scout leader for her daughters.

In 1975 Carol, Frank and the kids moved to Sedro-Woolley. Carol, being very artistic, continued teaching art and painting classes, and endeavored into floral design. She became a business partner in Interior Gardens Floral Shop designing arrangements for several years, she also worked for Hart's Floral in Mount Vernon and as a cook at United General Hospital.

Besides her painting and floral designing Carol enjoyed gardening, dancing, having family and friends close by and loved hosting Easter egg hunts in the woods near her home.

Carol is survived by her husband of 56 years, Frank, at the family home in Sedro-Woolley; her children and their spouses, Cheri & Mike Hassett, Jerri & Bob Larson, Debra & Marty Fenton and Frank & Christine Salseina; 2 sisters, LaVerne Hicks and June Hunziker; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Wendy Tingley officiating.

In memory of Carol memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Northwest, 819 S. 13th Street, Mount Vernon, WA 98274.
