Rustin James Messenger, 44, passed away on September 1, 2013 after a prolonged illness.

He was born to Richard and Lexie Messenger on December 13, 1968. He was raised in Sedro-Woolley, Washington and lived primarily in the Palm Springs and Pismo Beach, California areas.

Rustin worked with Fred Meyer Security, Time Warner Cable, and the Hilton Hotels, until he found his true calling working as the City Building Inspector in various cities. In his line of work and his personal life people were drawn to his warm, congenial personality. He was an example of unselfish, unconditional love toward his parents. He tenderly cared for his mom during her long illness and was always a comfort to his dad.

He loved his dog Raida at his side, and golfing, sports and music. He especially enjoyed the fishing and nature walks he would take with his dad.

He is survived by his father Richard, sisters LaRayne, Delores and Penny, daughters Ashley, Breanna, and Phebe, and his only granddaughter Allison-whom he doted on. He is also survived by his wife, Amy, and stepchildren Caleb, Zach, Caitlin and Luke.

There will be a memorial talk given by Tim Brown and refreshments provided Saturday, September 21st at 2:00 PM at the Bay View Civic Hall, 12615 C Street, Bay View Washington, 98273-7214. All who knew and loved Rusty are invited to attend.
