JOHNETTE EILERT Obituary

Johnette Helene (Galbraith) Eilert was born September 7, 1931 in Santa Ana, California to John Nelson and Henrietta Galbraith.

Johnette graduated Santa Ana High School and continued on to attend Santa Ana Community College. During that time, was offered a job at Buffums Department Store to be in charge of their window displays.

For the most part, she had the privilege to stay at home and raise her children. She joined several Leagues, such as Ebell, Assistance League and P.E.O. She held office for several years and did a lot of volunteer work.

She had a great love for interior decorating and was hired throughout her life by people who had stepped inside her home. Each house would sell within the week of placing it for sale, due to her exquisite taste.

Johnette had a passion for painting with oils and was very talented. Her beautiful paintings were displayed throughout her home.

On February 14, 1952, she married Elton Lee Eilert and they celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary, shortly before Elton passed away in 2015.

She loved her husband first and foremost, and when he passed on March 10, 2015, it took a big part out of her. She managed to carry on with the love of her family.

Johnette is survived by her brother, Kendall Galbraith of Riverside, CA; daughter; Sheri L. Strobaugh and son-in-law William P. Strobaugh of Conway, WA; and John S. Eilert of Clearlake, WA. She has several grandchildren; Brandon W. Strobaugh of Conway, Sarah L. Mehlum of Conway, Nicholas B. Strobaugh of Big Lake, Amy Stoddard of Stanwood, WA; Kelly N. Eilert of San Diego, CA; Jason Gustus of Salinas, CA and Steven Smallwood of Moses Lake, CA.

Sarah had given "Gigi" four beautiful great-grandchildren; Evan 9, Olivia 7, Nathan 5 and Annie 3. They were such a blessing in her life and brought the best out in her.

She was preceded in death by her parents John Nelson & Henrietta Galbraith; husband Elton Lee Eilert; son David L. Eilert and grand daughter Krissy L. Strobaugh.

A graveside service will be held Monday June 19, 2017 at 12:00 to 1 p.m at the Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Bellevue, WA.

Johnette was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and anyone who knew her was truly blessed.

Arrangements under the direction of Gilbertson's Funeral Home, Stanwood, WA.

To Sherri and the entire family, I am so sorry to hear that Johnette has passed away. I have many happy memories of sharing PEO chapters with her, she was always so kind and gracious. I hope you and families are doing well. This is such a lovely picture of Johnette, just as I remembered her.
