Robert Leroy Kilmer, 75, passed away December 2, 2012, at his home in Ramona surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 5,1937, in Joliet, IL, to James and Mary Kilmer. His family then moved to Imperial Beach where Robert grew up. He served proudly in the United States Air Force from 1956-1960. Robert graduated with a degree in Commercial Art from Southwestern College in Chula Vista and went on to have a 40-year career in sign painting.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Linda, whom he met and married in Lompoc, CA, in 1964. He is the loving and wonderful father of nine children, Kenneth (Cheryl), Elizabeth, Celeste, Maria (John), Daniel (Cathy), Joseph, Michael, Andrew (Rachel), Loretta and his "honorary Kilmer", Margie Mannex. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren; as well as his brothers, Gerald, Richard, Kenneth, Robert; and his sister, Maria. He will be greatly missed by his many cousins, nieces and nephews
Services will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Ramona. Public viewing will begin at 11am, the Rosary will be recited at 12:30 pm and the Funeral Mass will be held at 1pm. Burial will be immediately following at Nuevo Memory Gardens, also in Ramona.
