Born in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, Wayne grew up on the family farm in Town Holland. He graduated with Tau Beta Pi honors in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin.|
In 1944 he and Margaret (Peg) Idtse were wed. During WWII Wayne worked at the Naval Research Laboratory. He was employed 38 years with Carrier Corporation designing air conditioning systems. Upon retiring he came to Ramona and enjoyed many years of golf and traveling.
Wayne is survived by his wife; five children; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; and two sisters.
A celebration of Wayne's life will be held on February 18, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 404 Eighth Street, Ramona, California 92065.
