Feb. 18, 1924 - Dec. 2, 2012
SOUTH BEND - Mrs. Louise Beard, 88, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 2, 2012. She was born February 18, 1924 to the union of Henry and Lucinda (Price) McNeal in Bolivar, Tennessee. She was the baby of the family among thirteen brothers and sisters. In April, 1946, she married John Louis Beard, who preceded her in death in 2008. She and her husband moved to South Bend in 1947. From their union five children were born. Louise Beard loved to read her Bible, go shopping and listen to her favorite radio station, WUBS. She was adamant about raising her five children in the church and making sure that they had an understanding about the importance of serving God. She was a member of New Horizon Outreach Ministry and served on the Mother's Board. Dear family members who survive include a son, John (Frances) Beard of South Bend, Indiana; two daughters, Linda Beard of South Bend, Indiana and Diane (Harrison) Griffith of Lynwood, Illinois; two daughters-in-law, Geneva Beard of South Bend, Indiana and Miriam Beard of Toronto, Canada; twelve grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Louise was preceded in death by her son, Henry Beard; stepson, Joe Louis Beard; daughter, Denise Redding; and grandson, Terry Redding. The family would like to thank the staff of The Center for Hospice, Help at Home Agency and Ms. Delina Lewis for giving our mother loving care and rest during her final days. Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Beard will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at New Horizon Outreach Ministry with Apostle Dennis Givens officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary where friends may email messages of condolence to [email protected], c/o The Beard Family.
