Howard R. Whetstone

Howard R. Whetstone Mar. 8, 1921 - June 25, 2015 GRANGER - Howard R. Whetstone, 94, of Granger, Indiana, passed away at the Sanctuary at Holy Cross, South Bend at 7:40am Thursday, June 25, 2015. He was born in South Bend, Indiana to Charles and Jennie (McIntire) Whetstone who preceded him in death. In 1945, he married the former Rosemary Jacobs. She survives with two children, Rose Marie Cady of Granger and Earl Howard Whetstone of Valparaiso, Indiana. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sons, two sisters and ten brothers. Howard was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Infantry where he was awarded the purple heart. He was a lifetime member of the D.A.V. Funeral services for Howard will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, June 30th, 2015 at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, In. Friends may be received from 5 until 8:00pm at the funeral chapel on Monday, June 29th. Burial will follow the services on Tuesday at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
