Albert Vellucci

SOUTH BEND - Albert J. Vellucci, 93, of South Bend, died at 4:04 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Sprenger Healthcare in Mishawaka. Albert was born on December 9, 1920 in Utica, NY to the late Massimo and Josephine (Dellachiaie) Vellucci. Also preceding him in death were one sister, Felicia Galassi and one brother, Vincent Vellucci. On February 19, 1944 in South Bend, Albert married Irene Horvath. She died on October 28, 2008. Surviving are one daughter, Rose (Marcel) Rydzinski of Mishawaka, IN; three sons, Don (Chris) Vellucci of Mishawaka, Jim (Lisa) Vellucci of Florida, and Frank (Patti) Vellucci of Plymouth, IN; 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and one sister, Alvera Dudeck of South Bend. Albert was employed as an electrician at Studebaker's for 24 years until their closing. He was then employed for another 16 years at Dodge's until his retirement. He was a charter member of DeAmici's, enjoyed woodworking, playing the guitar and was an avid collector of Studebaker memorabilia. Visitation for Albert will be Wednesday, February 12th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Hahn Funeral Home 505 W. 8th St. Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 13th at 1:30 p.m. also at the funeral home. The Rev. Marcel Rydzinski, Albert's son-in-law will officiate and entombment will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
