EDWARDSBURG - Alfred Geza Hoffer, 82, of Minor Hill, TN (formerly of Edwardsburg, MI, and Cape Coral, FL) passed away at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, in Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Pulaski, TN. He was born on January 8, 1931, in South Bend, IN, to the late Geza and Mary Rose (Nykos) Hoffer. Mr. Hoffer married Elizabeth Molnar in 1950. They divorced in 1973, neither remarried, and remained good friends until her death in 2009. Mr. Hoffer is survived by one son, Dennis Hoffer of Elkhart, IN; and four daughters, Lisa (Terry) Lane of Minor Hill, TN, Michele (Mike) Gordon of Edwardsburg, MI, Mary Beth Hoffer of Elkhart, IN, and Claire Kunigonis of New Bern, NC; ten grandchildren, Schuyler, Tiese, Michael, Maggie, McKimmy, Meghan-Margret, Adam, Zachary, Kelsey, and Korynn; ten great-grandchildren; and one brother, Leonard E. Hoffer of Osceola, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, John Hoffer; a granddaughter, Kelley; and a great-granddaughter, Madeline. Mr. Hoffer worked in the accounting departments for Hart Metal, Consolidated Metal and at French Paper Company. He was a member of the V.F.W
. in Edwardsburg, MI, and the Eagle Lodge. Throughout his life he enjoyed music, singing, dancing, and playing the organ and saxophone. He was known for being an outstanding bartender and made his own wine. He loved classic cars, sailing ships, airplanes, and his English Bulldogs and Chihuahuas. There will be no visitation. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements. Burial and memorial service will take place at a later date at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, North Liberty, IN. Contributions in memory of Alfred G. Hoffer may be offered to St. John's Lutheran Church, North Liberty, IN.
