James Kehrer

James Kehrer July 11, 1930 - April 16, 2014 NILES - James Morris Kehrer, 83, of Niles, passed away on April 16, 2014. He was born on July 11, 1930, in Niles, Michigan, to the late Erwyn and Nola Kehrer. Kehrer served his country in the U.S. Navy, traveling the world. He enjoyed sharing those memories with his nieces and nephews. He was also the owner of Kehrer's Gun Shop for years and developed many lifelong friendships with customers. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Lou Kehrer Carter and Kathleen Kehrer. Survivors include one niece, Lisa Carter Rivers of Madison, AL; one nephew, Jim Carter of Newnan, GA; three grandnieces, Laura Catherine Rivers, Gracie Rivers and Sally Carter Thomas; and one grand-nephew, Carter Rivers. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 13, 2014, at 1 p.m. at the Buchanan City Building, 131 S. Oak St. in Buchanan. Family and friends are encouraged to attend and share their memories of Kehrer. Lisa Carter Rivers and Jim Carter would like to extend a very special "Thank You" to Pat Huttenstine and her family, and Pam Aviles and her family for showing love and support to Kehrer throughout his lifetime. Memorial donations may be made to one's favorite charity. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Niles.
