HUNTINGTON - Juanita Stackhouse Hoffer, age 89, of Huntington, formerly of Nappanee, died at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Norwood Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Huntington, where she had resided the last 3 years. She was born March 15, 1923 in Etna Green to Owen and Cleo Utter Stackhouse. She lived her lifetime in the Nappanee area. Juanita graduated from Etna Green High School in 1941 and attended 1 year of college at
Indiana University. She married Buell A. Hoffer on January 26, 1946 in Etna Green. He preceded her in death March 6, 2009. Mrs. Hoffer was a homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Church of God, where she had been involved in the WCSC and had been choir director. Her family was the love of her life and she loved feeding family and friends. Juanita is survived by her daughter, Susan (Tim) Herrli of Elkhart; sons, Timothy (Loretta) Hoffer of Indianapolis & Mark (Beth) Hoffer of Huntington; grandchildren, Brandon (Melea) Hoffer of Bourbon, Bryant (Amy) Hoffer of Indianapolis, Tanner and Trevor Herrli of Elkhart, Shelly (Robert) Goetz of Huntington, & Lauren (Brian) Herrli-Warner of Indianapolis; step-grandsons, Matt Sundheimer of Ft. Wayne & Aaron Sundheimer of Indianapolis; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, DeVoe Stackhouse. Family and friends may call from 5-8 Friday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee and for 1 hour prior to the funeral service, which will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Mt. Tabor Church of God. Officiating will be Rev. Jeremy Grueser. Burial will be in Stony Point Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Mt. Tabor Church of God.
