NORTH LIBERTY - Linda Davis, age 78, of North Liberty, passed away the evening of December 2nd, 2012 in Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. Linda was born to Walter and Lera (Holman) Gornik on October 27th, 1934 in Elkhart, Indiana. She graduated from Concord High School in Elkhart (class of 1952). Mrs. Davis attended the North Liberty Church of Christ. She retired from the Walkerton License branch as a team leader in 1996. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lera Gornik; two sisters, Gloria Lawrence and Leisa Voleck; her husband of 42 years, James H. Davis; and her son, Jimmy D. Davis. She is survived by her brother, Joseph (Glenis) Gornik of California; two daughters, Robin (Denny) Ream and Vicki (Steve) Morris both of Walkerton; and six grandchildren, Corie (Ryan) Walls, Brittany (Dave) Clark, Amy (Josh) Rezik, Darek (Erin) Morris, Dylan (Beth) Morris and Jakeub Morris. There are also four surviving great-grandchildren and two on the way. As per Linda's wishes, funeral services will be private with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral Home, 408 Roosevelt Road, Walkerton was entrusted with arrangements.
