M. Rebecca "Dolly" Cook


May 5, 1920 - July 29, 2013 MISHAWAKA - Margaret Rebecca "Dolly" Cook, 93, of Mishawaka, passed away during the early morning hours of July 29th in her residence. Dolly was born in Mishawaka on May 5, 1920, to the late Ray S. and Margaret (Keys) Winey. She attended St. Mary's College and Indiana University in Bloomington. On August 21, 1948, she married Harold Cook. Dolly enjoyed working at her father's store, Winey's Women's Specialty Shop in downtown Mishawaka. She was one of the longest standing members of the First Presbyterian Church of Mishawaka. She was a member of the Prairie Club in Chicago, Illinois, and belonged to the Tri Kappa Sorority. Dolly enjoyed going to the summer cottage at Camp Hazelhurst in Harbert, Michigan, and living on a bayou of the St. Joseph River and watching the swans, ducks, geese and squirrels. Dolly is survived by her loving husband, Harold, and their three daughters, Nancy K. Cook of Lyndhurst, Ohio, Rebecca Ann Doar and her husband, Timothy Doar of Oak Park, Illinois, and Sally Jane Cook, and her husband, Timothy Farley of Kirksville, Missouri. She was a grandmother of 4, Spencer Doar, Nicholas Farley, Abram Farley and Thaddeus Farley. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Sara Jensen, Mary Lamlein and Joan Lanphear; and 2 brothers, Ray and Clarence Winey. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, August 1st, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, and one hour prior to the service in the church. A service celebrating Dolly's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 2nd, at the First Presbyterian Church, 401 Lincoln Way East in Mishawaka. Burial is to follow at the St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
