Aug. 8, 1925 - Oct. 19, 2013 ARGOS - Marie Louise (Bernero) Alvis, 88, of 730 School St., Culver, Indiana, and formerly of Argos, Indiana, died October 19, 2013, at 4:45 p.m. at Miller's Merry Manor of Culver, Indiana, following a lengthy illness. Marie was born on Aug. 8, 1925, in Argos, Indiana, to Louis and Mary (Brizzolera) Bernero, and had lived in the Argos community most of her life. In 1961 she moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, and returned to the Argos community several years ago. On January 5, 1961, she married Roger Lee Alvis in Plymouth, Indiana. Roger preceded her on June 15, 2013. Marie was a beautician in Indianapolis and Argos, and owned the Neighborhood Beauty Shop in Argos, Indiana. She was a past member of the James Lowell Corey American Legion Auxiliary Post #68, Argos, Indiana, and attended Argos High School. Marie is survived by her Daughters - Donna Overmyer and Husband, Kenneth of Argos, Indiana; Sandra Pfefferle and husband, Barry of Bremen, Indiana; Step-Daughter - Carolyn Alvis of El Sentro, California; Step-Son - Craig Alvis and wife, Stacy of Clyde, Texas; 8 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, and her Son - Terry Treber. Friends may visit with the family Thursday, October 24, 2013, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2013, at the funeral home, with Chaplain Tom Padberg of the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care. Burial will follow at New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Marie L.
