ELKHART - Mr. Marvin Edgar Wilson, 69, of Elkhart, passed away at his home following an extended illness on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at 10:45 pm. He was born in Harrisburg, AR, on Dec. 20, 1943, to the late Vernon Wilson and Mamie (Kelsey) Wilson Regenos. Surviving are his daughters Marcella Brough and Maria Wilson, both of Elkhart; sons, Marvin Wilson Jr. of Muskegon Heights, MI, and Arthur Wilson of Niles; sisters, Margaret (Steve) Kilmer of Elkhart, Maggie (Robert) Guthrie of Plant City, FL, and Martha L. (Eddie) Rohl of Niles; brothers, Elmer Regenos and Leslie Smith of Elkhart and Vernon (Betty) Wilson and Ray Smith of Niles; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A sister, Doris Wilson, and a brother, Richard Wilson, preceded him in death. In accordance with Marvin's wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at 2:30 pm at the Veterans Section of Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart. Military Honors will be rendered by Elkhart DAV #19 and the U.S. Army Funeral Honor Guard. Arrangements have been placed under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart. Marvin worked many years in the maintenance department of several area RV manufacturing facilities, retiring in 2006 because of his health. He was quite an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying canoeing, fishing, rock collecting, nature walks, bird watching and playing golf. He also liked woodworking, reading Westerns, and was an avid American history buff. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War.
