Michael A. Klemczewski Sr.


Jan. 24, 1948 - Oct. 17, 2013 SOUTH BEND - Michael A. Klemczewski Sr., 65, was called home by his Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 17, 2013. at his home. Mike was born on January 24, 1948. in South Bend. to the late Edward Lukasiewicz and Dolores (Klemczewski) Wierzbicki. His was raised by his grandparents, Joseph and Veronica Klemczewski, whom he loved very much. On November 19, 1966, at the Holy Family Catholic Church, South Bend, he was united in marriage S. Charmaine (Zielinski) Klemczewski, who survives. Mike graduated from Washington High School, class of 1966, South Bend, and from General Motors Institute. He worked in management at several auto dealerships in South Bend, Ft. Wayne, and Warsaw, Indiana and Niles, Michigan, for most of his career. His favorite job was at The Classic Car Centre in Warsaw, IN, where he got to deal with clients from all over the U.S. and internationally. He retired from ABC Warehouse in 2006. He never met anyone he couldn't talk to, and always put his heart and soul into everything he did. If anyone was in need of help, Mike was right there doing what he could. Mike liked motorcycles, playing golf, poker, watching movies, collecting sports cards, and hanging out with his cousins whom he considered his brothers and sisters. His greatest love, pride and joy was his family, especially all of his grandchildren. This summer he took the trip of a lifetime. He and son, Joe, went to Poland for 11 days and had a wonderful time. Mike was a parishioner at Saint Anthony de Padua Church, South Bend. Michael is survived by his loving wife, S. Charmaine Klemczewski of 46 years; two daughters, Nicole (John) Klemczewski-Beavo, Dawn M. Klemczewski; three sons, Michael A. Klemczewski, Jr. Joseph A. (Tracy) Klemczewski and Eric A. Klemczewski; and grandchildren, Cameron, Ashlyn, Trey, Lynnea, Anthony and Kaden Klemczewski, Jessica, Tyler and Chase Beavo. He was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Veronica and Joseph Klemczewski; his mother, Delores Klemczewski Wierzbicki; stepfather, John Wierzbicki; father, Edward Lukasiewicz; granddaughter, Jordan Hannah Klemczewski; brother, Frank Wierzbicki; and many other family members. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:00 PM Monday, October 21, 2013, at St. Anthony de Padua Church, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, October 20, 2013, at Palmer Funeral Home - River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM, and one hour prior to services on Monday at the church.
