Norma Jean Weaver

ELKHART - Norma Jean Weaver, 87, of Elkhart, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at Hickory Creek at Winamac. She was born in Elkhart on September 8, 1926, to Clark and Ethel (Lytle) Mortorff. She married Carl E. Weaver Jr. on September 7, 1944. He preceded her in death on August 2, 1977. Norma is survived by 2 sons, Jerry (Katherine) Weaver and Dennis (Cynthia) Weaver, both of Elkhart; 2 daughters, Susan (Thomas) Behling of Elkhart and Brenda (Randall) Bates of Florida; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Also surviving are 1 sister, Mary McClintic of Elkhart, and 1 sister-in-law, Judy (Bob) Taylor of Jackson, Michigan. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Weaver, her husband, her parents, and her companion of 30 years, Max Juday of Centreville, Michigan. She worked for Whitehall Labs and Miles Labs in Elkhart and was a member of the Women of the Moose in Elkhart. Norma loved fishing, camping, traveling, and spending time with her family. Visitation for Norma will be today, December 12, 2013, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Services will be on Friday, December 13, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Larry Banghart will preside and burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. Memorials may be given to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
