Pamela Sue Rice Sept. 19, 1960 - July 25, 2014 LAKEVILLE - Pamela Sue Rice, 53, of Golden Living Center Nursing Home, LaPorte, IN, formerly of Lakeville, IN, passed away at 2:45 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2014, at Golden Living Center. She was born on September 16, 1960, in South Bend, IN, to the late Arthur and Dorothy (Orbit) Horvath. Mrs. Rice is survived by her husband, Roger David Rice; her children, Christopher Rice of LaPaz, IN, Rebecca Rice of LaPorte, IN, Matthew Rice of South Bend, IN, Cindimichelle Rice of LaPorte, IN, Devan (David) Levine of LaPorte, IN, and Traci Rice of Cincinnati, OH; fourteen grandchildren; two sisters, Patti King of Houston, TX, and Kimberly Purdue of South Bend, IN; brother, Mickey Horvath of South Bend, IN; and her stepmother, Johana Horvath of LaPorte, IN. She was preceded in death by father, Arthur Horvath; mother, Dorothy Verdine; & stepfather, Eugene Verdine. Mrs. Rice grew up in Mishawaka and remained a lifelong area resident. She graduated Valedictorian at Mishawaka High School. She was the former owner with her husband of Nanny Find, R&P Specialties, Rice's Exca-vating, all of Lakeville, and a former employee at the main branch of the South Bend Post Office. She formerly attended the Olive Branch United Brethren Church in Lakeville, IN. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Contributions in memory of Pamela Sue Rice may be offered to Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN 46614, to help the family with expenses for a monument.
