SOUTH BEND - Terrell Eugene Poindexter, 33, residing in South Bend, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016. He was born February 4, 1983, in South Bend, to Gary Eugene Poindexter and Darnetta L. Phillips, and remained a lifelong area resident.
Terrell was employed with MAP of Easton, Inc. in Granger. He enjoyed listening to music and playing sports.
Terrell is survived by his daughter, Anija Payne; son, Terrell E. Poindexter, Jr. of Missouri; mother, Darnetta L. Phillips of South Bend; sister, Sierra Poindexter of South Bend; brothers, Tervon M. Bobbitt and Andy Harris, both of South Bend, and Stephen R. Harvey of Pendleton, IN; stepmother, Dennetta Harris of South Bend; and stepfather, Grady Bobbitt, also of South Bend; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Poindexter.
Funeral services for Terrell will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 4, 2016, in the Palmer Funeral Home - West Chapel, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend. Graveside services and burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to services Saturday in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be donated to the Poindexter Family, c/o Palmer Funeral Home - West Chapel, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend, IN 46628.

It's still hard to hear and realize that the phone call I received Sat morning was true. You will forever remain in my heart holding that special place for you blessed me as well as I did u with our 1st born son Terrell Jr. born Oct. 13th ,2001; he looks so much like you your identical twin no doubting that 15 going on 16 I will make sure he knows you loved him and watching over him. I will do my best to make sure he continues to be the loving caring man he is/was raised to be and remain for I am only his mother I can not teach a man to be a man. Darnette and Gary I am truly sorry and can only imagine how you feel and coping for we loved him probably just the same you 2 more for your his parents and brought him into this world I was blessed to give you your handsome grandson who is a spitting image of his dad we are always family and a phone call away even though we live in Missouri it's nothing to take the drive home. I love you guys and my prayers and condolences to all the family Terrell Eugene Poindexter Sr may u forever R.I.H We love u always and will miss u deeply.
