Claudine R. Lang Dec. 2, 1915 - Apr. 30, 2014 MISHAWAKA - Claudine R. Lang, age 98, passed away in her sleep on April 30, 2014, at The Pines of Mt. Lebanon Assisted Living Facility in Pittsburgh, PA. She died of kidney failure. Claudine was born on December 2, 1915, in Michigan City, IN. She attended South Bend Central High School, and graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1933. Her first job after high school was in the payroll department at Dodge Manufacturing Corporation in Mishawaka. In 1940, she married Lawrence M. Lang. They were married for 36 years. Later, Claudine was employed as a secretary at the Ball Band Corporation and then as a bank teller at 1st National Bank in Mishawaka. She retired from the 1st National Bank when she was 62 years old. Claudine enjoyed reading, cross-stitch, needlepoint, and travel. In retirement, she made 5 trips to Europe visiting Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, and Great Britain. Claudine loved dogs. She participated in many activities at St. Peter Lutheran Church including making Braille Bibles and making quilts for world relief. Also in retirement, she followed her son-in-law's job transfers, living at Springwood Independent Living Facility in Arvada, CO, and at Vanadium Woods Village Independent Living Facility in Bridgeville, PA. Claudine was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence M. Lang of Mishawaka; and by her son John L. Lang of Arlington, TX. She is survived by her daughter Mary Leonardi (Kenneth) and by her granddaughter Alexandra Leonardi of Pittsburgh, PA. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 PM on Sunday May 4 at Bubb Funeral Chapel in Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Mishawaka at 10 AM on Monday May 5. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations should be given to the Animal Rescue League Shelter and Wildlife Center, 6620 Hamilton Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15206.
