ELKHART - Craig Foster "Dusty" Barber, age 69, of Elkhart passed away Friday, July 12, 2013. Dusty was born January 28, 1944 in Elkhart, Indiana. He is survived by his mother, Erma I. (Wilkinson) Barber of Elkhart, and his children, Scott Foster (Patricia) Barber of Kissimmee, FL, Timothy John (Tammy) Barber of Osceola, and Mark (Billie Jo Dennis) Barber of Battle Creek, Michigan. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, Ryan and Haley Barber, and 2 great-grandchildren, Alexia and Jacob Barber. Surviving as well is his brother Brent F. Barber and his nephew Brent C. "Christopher" Barber, both of Elkhart. His father, Ora F. Barber preceded him in death. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. There will also be 2 hours of calling prior to the 11:00 am funeral service at Chapel Hill on Wednesday, July 17, 2013. Interment and Military Honors will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. As a young man, Dusty achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement in Boy Scouting. Dusty served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, where he retired honorably from duty as a Master Sergeant in 1987. He enjoyed fishing, canoeing, camping and bonfires, and was an avid NASCAR fan. He was also a longtime member of the American Legion Post #308 in Osceola, and the Air Force Alumni Association of Chicago.
