SOUTH BEND - Donna W. Medich, 78, of South Bend, passed away at 4:00 PM on Friday, May 17, 2013, in her residence after an extended illness with her loving family at her bedside. Donna was born on November 28, 1934, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the late George H. and Anne (Perich) Wuchenich. She resided in the South Bend area since 1970, coming from Pittsburgh, PA. On October 25, 1970, Donna married Michael Medich in South Bend, Indiana, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Danica M. Medich (Brian) of South Bend, IN; and two grandchildren, Evan M. Sadewasser of South Bend, IN, and Milena A. Sadewasser of South Bend, IN. Also surviving are three brothers, Dr. John G. (JoAnn) Wuchenich and N. Chad (Natalie) Wuchenich, both of Pittsburgh, PA, and Michael "Topsy" (Joyce) Wuchenich of San Antonio, FL; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and Kumovi. Donna was preceded in death by her loving parents, George H. and Anne (Perich) Wuchenich, and her son, Jovan S. Medich, on September 26, 2009. Donna retired from the Notre Dame Credit Union after many years of service. She was a faithful member of St. Peter and Paul Serbian Orthodox Church, Ladies Kolo Auxillary, Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and S.S.S. Aleksa Shantich Choir. She loved being Iya, spending time with her grandchildren, cooking and baking. The family would like to thank her dear friend, Jelena Suka of Mishawaka, IN, Dr. Ansari and staff, Dr. Mokfi and staff, and the entire staff on 10th floor (South) of Memorial Hospital, especially nurse Melissa Ullery. Visitation will be held Monday, May 20th, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Pomen Service at 7:00 PM at Hanley and Son's "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road/State Road 23. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 21st, at 12:00 PM at St. Peter and Paul Serbian Orthodox Church, with Fr. Sasa Nedic officiating. Friends may call 1 hour prior to service. Entombment will follow at Southlawn Cemetery in South Bend, IN. The family requests, PLEASE, in lieu of flowers, that all memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the family. The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Medich family.
