SOUTH BEND - Doris Eudene Ahls, 87, of South Bend, passed away at 12:24 pm, Wednesday, January 30, 2013 in Golden Living Center. Doris was born on November 7, 1926, the daughter of the late Andrew and Ollie J. (Hunt) Ahls. She is survived by three siblings, Margurite Whitfield of Granger, Raymond (Vesta Louise) Ahls of Denver, CO and Helen Russell of Herrin, IL. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law, Charlie Whitfield and Melvin Russell; and half-sisters, Imogene Whitson and Delpha Adams. A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm, Friday, February 1, 2013 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Private burial will take place in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to The Center for Hospice, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637 or St. Joseph County Humane Society, 2506 Grape Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
