BREMEN - Dorothy Virginia Mummy - Berkey Farrer, 86, of Bremen, passed away at 4:30 pm on Saturday, November 17, 2012, in the Community Hospital of Bremen. She was born on February 28, 1926, in Peru, Indiana, to Lillian M. (Lusk) and William Mummy. Dorothy married William "Bud" Berkey on January 15, 1949, & he preceded her in death in 1972; and on November 5, 1983, she married Tom Farrer, who preceded her in death on December 7, 2011. Dorothy was formerly employed at United Foam of Bremen, and retired from Ristance Wire of Bremen. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, performing in the church choir. Dorothy was also a member of the Eastern Star, Tri Kappa, Ladies Card Club and the Bremen VFW Auxiliary. She was an avid golfer and an enthusiastic sports fan. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Fred) Fuchs, Bremen; a son, Charles "Chuck" Berkey, Bremen, Indiana. She is survived by a stepson, Jack Farrer, Bremen; and a stepdaughter, Sally Smith, also of Bremen. She is also survived by a brother, William "Bill" Mummy, Washington, and a sister, Barbara (Rulo) Siefer, Bremen. Also surviving Dorothy's passing are numerous step-grandchildren & numerous step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, a son, Richard A. Berkey, and a brother, McClennan "Mack" Mummy. Visitation for Dorothy will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, from 1 to 4 pm in the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen, Indiana. Funeral services for Dorothy will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, November, 21, 2012, in the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen, Indiana. Burial will follow at the Bremen Cemetery.
