SOUTH BEND - Gilbert "Gil" Jensen passed away suddenly Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Marti Jensen, a son, Cody Burke Sr., a daughter, Hailey Orosz, a grandson, Cody Burke Jr., all of South Bend, Indiana. He is also survived by his mother, Constance (Wagner) Jensen; a sister, Jill Jensen; two brothers, Bill and Phil (Debbie) Jenson; two nephews, Nathan Tingle and Michael Jensen; and one niece, Samantha Jensen. His father, Ralph R. Jensen, preceded him in death. Gil graduated from Penn High School of Mishawaka, where he played football. He then received an Associate Degree in Science majoring in electronic technology from Devry Institute in Chicago, IL. In 1996 he began his career at Federal Mogul. He received several promotions throughout his 18 years of service and recently was promoted to the maintenance operation manager, where he was highly respected and liked by many. Gil had many passions and things he enjoyed, but his wife Marti (Lambert) Jensen was the center of his world and he loved her deeply. Gil was a great friend with a huge heart and would do everything he could to help anyone in need. He was an avid football fan, loved to golf, bowl, and he had a great passion to ride his Harley with his friends and family. He supported any motorcycle runs he could and loved to help any fellow rider he could. Gil was loved by many family and friends and will be truly missed. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Thursday, September 26, 2013, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. Funeral services for Gil will be held at 11 am Friday, September 27, 2013, in the funeral home, with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to Logan Industries.
