SOUTH BEND - Mrs. Goldie Lottie entered eternal rest on January 10, 2014, at her son's home in Ellenwood, Georgia. Goldie was born on December 29, 1918, in Forest City, Arkansas, to Will Patterson and Dora Clark, who both preceded her in death. Goldie was united in holy matrimony to Mr. R.D. Lottie Sr. on September 23, 1935, in Forest City, Arkansas, and then relocated to South Bend, Indiana, in November of 1943. She was a former member of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Henry Gidden, where she served on the Pastor's Aide Committee and the Nurses Guild. After 15 years of service as a Nurse's Aide, Goldie retired from Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana. She leaves to mourn her children: R.D. Jr. (Cynthia) of Los Angeles, California, Harvey Lee (Jamie) of Ellenwood, Georgia, William (Debra) of South Bend, Indiana, Gloria Lottie-Wilson of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Julianna of South Bend, Indiana; 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great-grandchildren; niece, Roberta (Jennings) Parahams of Lilburn, Georgia; and her heartfelt children: Earl Freeman of Rockford, Illinois, and Renee Lacy of Alpharetta, Georgia; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. R.D. Lottie, Sr.; one son, George Bernard; one great-granddaughter, Taryn Renee Lottie of Los Angeles, California; and very special nephew, Mr. Johnie Lottie, Jr. Goldie loved the Lord. She was generous and willing to help others in need, and will be greatly missed by all who loved and cherished her. Public viewing will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014, in Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend, Indiana 46628, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will take place on Saturday, January 18, 2014, in New Salem Baptist Church, 141 S. Canton St., South Bend, Indiana 46628. Visitation at 11:00 a.m. and funeral service at 12 noon. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery.
