WALKERTON - Harry W. Malstaff, age 93, passed away on Thursday, March 6th, 2014. Harry was born on December 26th, 1920, to Joseph J. and Laura L. (Stickley) Malstaff in St. Joseph County. Mr. Malstaff was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Walkerton, the Walkerton Historical Society, American Legion Post #189 and Knights of Columbus (Fourth Degree). He was a farmer and a St. Joseph County 4-H horse and pony leader. Harry proudly served our country in WW II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marthe J. (Haden) Malstaff in 2004. Harry is survived by his brother, William Malstaff; his sister, Catherine Ganger; son, Mark (Linda) Malstaff; daughter, Laura (Mike) Shenenberger; grandchildren, Miles (Rachel), Eric (Jennifer) Leanne (Chad), Rachael and Roxie (Kyle); seven great-grandchildren; and his caregivers, Abbie, Tami, Carol and Ruby. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 10th, 2014, at 11:00 am (ET) in St. Patrick's Church in Walkerton. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. Visitation will be today, March 9th, from 3:00 to 7:00 in the Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral Home, 408 Roosevelt Road, Walkerton. There will be a Rosary Service at 6:30 pm in the funeral home. Donations in loving memory of Harry are being accepted by St. Patrick's Church, and the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care of Plymouth.
