June 4, 1959 - April 25, 2013 SOUTH BEND - Jane M. Bidlack-Hochstetler, 53, passed away on Thursday, April 25, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, after her three-and-a-half-year courageous battle with Melanoma cancer. Jane was born on June 4, 1959, in South Bend, to Richard J. and Dorothy (Van de Walle) Bidlack. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard, and a brother, Philip. On May 11, 1985, she married Gregory Hochstetler. Surviving are her mother, Dorothy Bidlack of South Bend; her husband, Gregory; children, Jacob Hochstetler of South Bend and Bryce (Alissa) Hochstetler of Mishawaka; two beautiful grandbabies, Dylan Pennycuff and Colton Hochstetler; and her brothers, John Bidlack of South Bend, Charles (Dawn) Bidlack of South Bend, Timothy (Naomi) Bidlack of Mishawaka and William (Lisa) Bidlack of Granger. Jane also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that she cherished; her godchildren, Ashley Gilbert and Amanda Bidlack; father-in-law, Levi (Susan) Hochstetler, mother-in-law, Linda Anderson; several aunts and an uncle. Jane was the Food Service Director for Tanglewood Trace in Mishawaka. Jane was known for looking out for everyone else by saying, "check your feet and toes and skin for any funky sign of growths, then get to the doctor." Visitation for Jane will be on Monday, April 29, from 2 to 8 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 30, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior in St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 53720 N. Ironwood Dr., South Bend, with Pastor Matthew Cowden officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
