SOUTH BEND - Max Eugene Feirick, 87, passed away at 11:05 AM Monday, December 16, 2013, at his home. Max was born on March 14, 1926, in Dowagiac, MI, to the late Adam and Hazel (Wallace) Feirick, later moving to the South Bend area where he has been a lifelong resident. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a World War II veteran. On November 18, 1944, Max was united in marriage to Ruth (Tretheway) Feirick at the former River Park Church of Christ in South Bend. His wife, Ruth, preceded him in death on August 5, 2009. Max worked for many years as a machinist at Torrington Needle Bearings Production in South Bend, retiring in 1983. Max is survived by his three daughters, Carral L. (James) Clark, Sherry Harding & Diana Gish, all of South Bend; son, Larry Lee Feirick of South Bend; 9 grandchildren, Rhonda (Warren) Williams, Michael (Kim) Harding, Christine (David) Zupich, Lisa (Wayne) Boocher, Robert Clark, Sheila (Chip Enos) Deal, Kimberly (Bradley) Rupert, Brenda (Victor) Saavedra & Steven (Brandi Flatt) Deal; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Eleanor Crispen and Katherine Clark, both of Michigan, and Dorothy Laine of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Palmer Funeral Home - River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN. Committal service with Military Rites will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may visit with the family today from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
