So shocked to hear this news. Remie was a wonderful woman - a great scholar, yet humble at the same time. I have warm memories from our times together when we were in graduate school here in Princeton. To Matthew, Owen, & Sam - I hope that your memories of Remie bring you comfort in the days and weeks ahead. Although we have been out of touch for years, I will miss knowing that Remie is here on this earth.

Dearest Remie, Principled, brilliant, light-hearted, and kind. I had so hoped that you would have a long, long life, and that we would visit each other in beautiful locales in our retirement, remembering our young men as boys, having wonderful dinners and laughing conversations as we did when young. It's so hard to believe this has happened. She was way too young for this! Remie was a terrific scholar with every right to be quite full of herself, but she wasn't. There couldn't be someone more warm, more genuine, and more collegial than this. What a huge loss.

Remie was a great scholar, a great colleague, a great champion of younger scholars, and above all a lovely, wonderful, warm person. And she loved bunnies. We will all miss her.

Remi, a wonderful spirit, will be dearly missed by many. I take comfort in thinking that Michael will soon welcome his esteemed friend and colleague and what erudite conversations they will have!
