SOUTH BEND - A good man, great father, and awesome brother passed away on February 11, 2013. He was a gentle soul who loved his family and enjoyed the company of his many friends. His family and friends knew him by his nicknames: Beto, Bob, or Roberto. Rigoberto Salinas was born Dec. 2, 1942, in McAllen, TX, to Juan Perez and Rosa Maria Salinas. He married his childhood friend, Ms. Anita Marie Lara, on June 26, 1964. They were blessed with 5 children, Reynaldo Salinas Sr. From Houston, TX, Elisa A. Salinas-Hernandez and Rene Salinas Sr. from Pearland, TX, Roman and Ramiro Salinas, South Bend, IN. He was preceded in death by his brother, Alfredo Salinas, in 1954, and his parents, Juan Perez and Rosa Maria Salinas in 2004. He is survived by his wife and five children. He is also survived by his brothers, Juanito (Elida) from Florida City, FL, Lionel (Margarita) from Monroe, MI, Jose (Vicky) from South Bend, IN, and Rudolfo (Sonia) from Fort Myers, FL; and his sisters, Maria Alicia and Luz Elva Salinas from Naples, FL, Diana Viola (Juan) Estrada from North Liberty, IN, Blanca Stella Salinas from Mishawaka, IN, and Esperanza (Ron) Wilcox from Elkhart, IN. Rigoberto had 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He worked in the construction industry for 45 years. He retired from Robert Henry Corporation in South Bend, Indiana, in 2008 after 26 years of service and moved to Pearland, Texas, in the fall of that same year. To his family and his friends his final wishes were, "Do not be sad, be happy, and know that I love all of you." To Beto from your brothers and sisters: We love you very much, we have great memories of all the good times we had, and we will miss you greatly. "Via con Dios, Hermano"
