SOUTH BEND - Roger L. Herban, 79, of South Bend, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014, in Memorial Hospital. Roger was born August 3, 1934, in South Bend, to the late Leon and Edna (Whitesel) Herban. On August 30, 1991, in South Bend, Roger married Patricia (Rankin), who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Dana (Tony) Bacon of Woodbury, Minnesota, Sandy (Greg) Osborn of Constantine, Michigan, and Tara (Chris) Galante of Phoenix, Arizona; three sons, Randy (Sharon) Herban of Granger, IN, Tim (Lynn) Herban of South Bend and Toby (Janet) Gasko of South Bend; two stepdaughters, Trisha (Todd) Maggs of Rancho Cucamonga, California, and Kimisha Humphrey of South Bend; fourteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; and one brother, Thomas (Mickey) Herban of Rochester, IN. Roger proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from the United States Postal Service as a supervisor after twenty-nine years of service. Roger requested that there be no visitation or services, with cremation to be held at Welsheimer Crematory.
