Frieda F. Wroblewski-Jurgonski Sept. 28, 1927 - Mar. 17, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Frieda F. Wroblewski-Jurgonski, 86, passed away at 1:50am Monday, March 17, 2014 in the Sanctuary at St. Paul's. Frieda was born on September 28, 1927 in South Bend to Frank and Mary (Palatin) Orisich. She married Richard Wroblewski on June 18, 1946. He died on November 5, 1973. Her son Kenneth Wroblewski died on April 10, 1969. She married Richard Jurgonski on August 21, 1976. He died on November 19, 2000. Frieda was also preceded in death by her siblings Henry Orisich, Matilda Kowalski, Katherine Palatin and John "Yash" Orisich, and daughter-in-law Virginia Wroblewski. Frieda would attend church every Saturday night, loved to play Bingo and Polka dance. Frieda and her lady friends would make a regular lunch stop at Burger King. She loved her family and was proud of all of their accomplishments. Frieda was a feisty woman who told it as it was. She had a heart of gold and was a caring person who would always give to others. She retired from AM General where she was one of a select number of women who were employed there. Her employment started at a young age where she learned good hard work ethics. Frieda loved animals, especially feeding the blue jays and cardinals and watching the deer. Her hobbies included collecting angels and watching her son Bobby race. Her travels took her back to the old country and she would relive the stories of her relatives there. Frieda was also a member of the former St. Anthony Society. Surviving are two sons, Wayne Wroblewski of Mishawaka and Robert Wroblewski of South Bend, whom she dearly loved; 4 grandchildren Kevin (Janice), David, Jennifer (Jon), and Melissa (Bill); 8 great-grandchildren Brittany, Ryan, Blake, Billy, Kaitlyn, Kate, Ethan, and Dylan, and two brothers, Frank (Helen) Orisich and Joseph (Joyce) Orisich, both of South Bend. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Heartland Hospice and Sanctuary at St. Paul's. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00pm Saturday, March 22, 2014 in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 South Kemble Avenue. Family and friends may call from 10:00am until time of services in the funeral home. Private burial will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
