William M. Clark June 25, 1931 - April 2, 2014 GEORGETOWN, TX - William Melville "Bill" Clark, 82, died suddenly at home in Georgetown, TX, on April 2, 2014. Bill was born to Dr. William H. and Phyllis Clark in Chicago on June 25, 1931, and grew up in South Bend, IN. He lived in at least eight states and Canada before moving in 2006 to Sun City in Georgetown, TX, with his wife of 55 years, Linda Slatton Clark. After graduating from Depauw University in Greencastle, IN, Bill served honorably as First Lieutenant in the U.S. Marines until his discharge from the Reserves in 1961. He worked for more than 40 years with Kawneer Co., and was a passionate golfer and snow-skier. Bill married Linda in 1958 and had two sons, William Andrew and James Michael Clark. Bill was predeceased by his parents and sister, Martha Clark Olt. Survivors include his loving wife and sons; sister, Catherine "Kit" Clark North; brothers-in-law, Nolan North and James Slatton; nephews, Bill and Tim North, Stewart and David Slatton; nieces, Marnie Olt Mertz, Katie Olt Orphonos, Kristy North Ferrey, Amy Olt Dolan, Elizabeth Olt Emswiler and Elizabeth Slatton Higgins; many other cousins, nieces and nephews; and a wealth of lifelong friends. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in Bill's name be made to the Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund or Depauw University Alumni Association.
