Robert L. Michaelis Mar. 20, 1939 - Apr. 24, 2014 MISHAWAKA - Robert L. Michaelis, 75, of Mishawaka, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Bob was born in Ft. Wayne, IN on March 20, 1939 to the late Earl and Eva (Lucas) Michaelis. On June 29, 1996, he married Brenna S. Parish. Bob was a proud union plumber and pipe fitter. He belonged to the Local #172 for 55 years. Bob did work on the Alaskan Pipeline. He worked for the city of Mishawaka for 11 years and retired in 2009. After retiring he kept busy by repairing sewing machines. He enjoyed sailing, wood working, and carving. Bob is survived by his wife, Brenna, along with his children; Dawn (Tom) Cole of Ft. Wayne, IN, Dena (Kylan) Cope of Oklahoma, Denise (Jeff) Coon of Wisconsin, Rob E. (Tracy) Michaelis of Mishawaka, and Stefanie (Dave) Wilson of Mishawaka. He was the grandfather of 15. He is also survived by his siblings; John Michaelis of Alaska, Ron Michaelis of Mishawaka, and Jean Heston of Florida. Bob also leaves behind his best friend of 59 years, Bruce Tassel and his dogs, Toby and Sissy. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, April 27th from 2 until 6:00 PM in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, and again on Monday from 1 until service time. A service celebrating Bob's life will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 28th in the funeral chapel with Rev. Jerry Bell officiating.
