Mary Culp May 7, 1923 - May 6, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Mrs. Mary Frances Culp, 90, at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014, went home to be with the Lord after a period of illness. In the days and hours leading to her passing, she was surrounded by family and loved ones in her home. Mary Frances Culp of Little Rock, Arkansas, was born to the union of the late Gillie and Mattie (Weathers) Hunt on May 7, 1923. Mary retired from Healthwin Rehabilitation Center. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and cooking. Mary loved watching people eat her food. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and she had a lot of spunk. Mary was sassy all the way to the end. Mary accepted our Lord and Savior before leaving this earth. Mary leaves to cherish her life six sons, Charles Jenkins of Alabama, David Jenkins of Ohio, Roy Jenkins Jr., Robert (Antoinette) Jenkins, George (Patricia) Jenkins and Robert Culp, all of South Bend, Indiana; four daughters, Rosemary Harris, Debra Eason, Mattie Taylor and Shae Culp, all of South Bend, Indiana; 26 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren; and three other special daughters-in-law, Tina Kalber, Janice Pfeifer and Felicia Span. Preceding her in death were her husband, Huston "Pie" Culp; our father and grandfather, Roy Jenkins Sr.; special aunt, Hattie Weathers; brothers, Eddie Hunt and Robert Charles Hunt; and one granddaughter, Aurora Jenkins. Funeral services for Mrs. Culp will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at 12:00 p.m., at Alford's Mortuary, where arrangements have been entrusted. Friends may call one hour prior to the services.
