DonnaBelle Van Maele June 9, 1919 - May 19, 2014 MISHAWAKA - DonnaBelle Van Maele, 94, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 7:15 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2014, at Sanctuary at Holy Cross, South Bend. Donna Belle was born on June 9, 1919, in Garrett, IN, to Roy and May (Claxton) Sherman. She moved to Mishawaka with her parents when she was 3 years old. She was a graduate of Mishawaka High School. On December 30, 1939, she married her high school sweetheart, Marcel K. "Blackie" VanMaele, at First Baptist Church in Mishawaka. Blackie preceded her in death on December 23, 1995. Donna Belle was a member of First Baptist Church Mishawaka where she was very active in the church with the choir, teaching Sunday school, and involved with many other activities with the church. DonnaBelle loves the Lord Jesus, and His Holy Spirit worked through her as she encouraged so many others to come to the Lord and to grow in their relationship with Jesus. DonnaBelle reminded others that we all fall short of the Glory of GOD and only through our repentance and belief that Jesus is Who He said that He is, will we be saved from death. DonnaBelle's life stands as a witness to the truth that Jesus died on the Cross to pay for our sins and GOD raised Him from the grave to conquer death and that He would make a place in heaven for those who would make Him Lord of their lives as DonnaBelle did. The night before she passed, DonnaBelle said of her pain and suffering, "When I see His face, it will all be worth it." Services will be at 3:00 p.m. today, May 22, 2014, at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, in the mausoleum, with Pastor Pete Jones officiating the services. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 724 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, IN 46545. Bubb Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
