Moses O. Woods July 12, 1932 - June 21, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Moses O. Woods, 82, affectionately known as "Sonny," a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and brother-in-law, peacefully passed away June 21, 2014 in South Bend, Indiana. Moses was born July 12, 1932 to the union of William and Sadie (Jefferies) Woods in South Bend, Indiana (both parents preceded him in death). He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth (Galloway) Woods; and a son, Gregory Woods. Moses was the only brother of five siblings. Surviving is Marquita Parhams of South Bend, IN. Preceding him in death are Willabelle Jackson, Edisto Horton, Grace Ivory and Jenny Scott. Also preceding him in death is a favorite aunt, Edith Douglas; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Lewis; and several brothers-in-law. Moses leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters: Dawn Woods (who was his guardian), Dr. Geraldine (Troy Sr.) Marks of Wixom, MI, Camille Galloway-(Ricky) Grady, Dorothy Galloway, Doris Smith, all of South Bend, IN; and sons, Clarence (Elisha) Woods of Bloomfield, MI, Michael Woods of South Bend, IN, Robert (Stephania) Woods of Grand Rapids, MI, and Anthony Woods of Louisville, Kentucky. Moses was a wonderful grandfather to his twenty grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by special cousins, Beatrice Spears and Weldon Jefferies; special nephew, Ray "Junior" Jackson; and brother and sister-in-law, Andrew and Josephine Galloway Sr., along with a host of family and friends. Moses served his country and was honorably discharged from the Unites States Army. He then worked for Dodge Manufacturing in Mishawaka, IN and worked many years with General Motors in Flint, MI until his retirement. The family of Moses Woods would like to thank the medical professionals for comforting him during his illness. We would also like to thank our friends and co-workers that traveled over the highways for our Dad; he was very fond of his children's childhood friends and often referred to them as his own.
