Elnora L. Bryan June 10, 1927 - June 24, 2014 MISHAWAKA - On June 24, 2014, Elnora Bryan, 87, conquered her battle with Alzheimer's and left this world to join her heavenly Father. Her love for life and family doesn't seem like something that can be expressed in so few words, but it lives on in the hearts and memories of those who knew and loved her. She was born June 10, 1927, in Mishawaka, to William and Mary (Quier) Carter. Elnora was the loving sister to 12 close-knit siblings who always knew they could count on one another: Zelda (Russell) Rogers, Mary Jeanette (Paul) Geans, Verna Loeffler, Jacquelyn Love, all of Mishawaka, Walter (Shirley) Carter of Osceola, Marsca (Dar) Suran of South Bend, Clinton "Nick" (Vicki) Carter of Nevada, and deceased siblings, Iris Butler, Elizabeth McIntyre, William, Eugene and George Carter. She fell in love with Earl E. Bryan, who was literally the teenage boy next door. They married on November 22, 1946 after he returned from his Navy service in WW II. They were married for nearly 50 years before his passing in 1996. They are now reunited and likely having a good laugh in heaven. Elnora enjoyed a good laugh and spending time with her family. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards, and always had a smile on her face. She was kind and generous, had an amazing work ethic, kept records better than a computer, and her good nature, smile and laughter were infectious. Her house was always welcoming, and earned her the title "grandma" from many of the neighborhood children. Surviving are children, Carol (Greg) Bowton of Fort Wayne, and Mike (Penny) Bryan of Florida; grandchildren, Cameron and Nicholas Bowton, Megan (Ty) Quiring, Seamus (Lauren) Bryan, Jenna Bryan, and deceased grandson, Sean Bryan; and great-grandchildren, Cole and Ellery Quiring, Kora and Carter Bryan, and Avery Bowton. Funeral services will be held at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, Indiana on Friday at 1:00 pm, where friends will be received from 11 am until the time of the services on Friday.
