Viola Thomas Dec. 23, 1943 - July 10, 2014 MISHAWAKA - Viola Thomas of Mishawaka passed away at 1:35 pm Thursday, July 10, 2014, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. She was born on December 23, 1943, in Hulbert County, West Memphis, AR, to Charles and Ruby (Wicks) Dyer Sr. On March 17, 1975, in Benton Harbor, MI, she married Key Thomas, who survives. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on November 23, 1975. Viola continued to share faithfully the good news of Jehovah God heavenly government with Christ Jesus as King to everyone. Viola is survived by her mother, Ruby Dyer of South Bend; 2 brothers, Charley (Kathern) Dyer Jr. of Benton Harbor, MI, Sammy (Juanita) Dyer of Lexington, KY; 2 sons, Terry Dyer of Indianapolis, Leon (Stacy) Dyer of Colorado; 1 daughter, Patricia Cortson of Benton Harbor; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Dyer; her father, Charley Dyer Sr.; her brother, Otis Dyer; her son, Audie Johnson Jr.; and her son-in-law, Matthew Cortson. A visitation for Viola will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2431 Filbert Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545. Viola was very artistic; she enjoyed decorating, painting, and had a creative touch about her. She liked dancing, listening to music, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
