Leroy King Feb. 8, 1921 - Aug. 1, 2014 MISHAWAKA - Leroy King, 93, of Mishawaka, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2014 in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. On February 8, 1921, Leroy was born in Des Arc, Arkansas to the late Homer and Dolly (Webb) King. Leroy married Dorothy Sanders on December 19, 1939; they later divorced. In July of 1977, he married Rose Ann Szalay; Rose preceded him in death in 2005. He was an inspector at Uniroyal, retiring in 1985 after 35 years. As a young man he enjoyed playing baseball, playing for many years for Des Arc and later for the Ball Band team. Leroy enjoyed finding things with his metal detector. One of his greatest passions was fishing. He also was known for his fresh baked pies. Leroy is survived by his four children: Homer King of Mishawaka, Jerry King of Mishawaka, Carol (Joe) Rager of Mishawaka and Tanya Brazil of Benton, Arkansas. He was the grandfather of ten and a great-grandfather of thirteen. Leroy is also survived by a sister, Odell Neil of Hazen, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Carl, Roland, John, and Homer Jr. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, August 4 from 4 until 7:00 pm in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN. A service celebrating Leroy's life will be held at 7:00 pm. He will be laid to rest in Des Arc, Arkansas.
