Emma Groff June 12, 1921 - Aug. 4, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Emma "Peaches" Margaret Groff, 93, residing in South Bend, IN passed away at 3:55 AM Monday, August 4, 2014 at Michiana Health and Rehab, Mishawaka, IN. Peaches was born on June 12, 1921 in New Castle, PA to the late Rudolph M. Schuller and Emma L. (Johnson) Snyder. On October 17, 1953 in Youngstown, OH she married Charles W. Groff, who preceded her in death on July 12, 1987. Peaches is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David M. Groff and Sharon DeVinney of South Bend; her stepbrother, Charles (Dawn) Snyder of McKinney, TX; and step-brother-in-law, Albert Ford of Gwinn, MI. She was preceded in death by her stepsister, Shirley Ford. Peaches worked as an X-ray technician prior to her life as a wife and mother. She and Charlie lived in Harlansburg, PA for many years while raising David. They retired to Wickenburg, AZ where Peaches lived for twenty-nine years before moving to South Bend, IN in 2003. Peaches was a very active church member throughout her life. While living in Arizona she was a hospital volunteer and was very involved with Habitat for Humanity in Wickenburg. She loved to read, enjoyed needlework and cross stitch and traveled extensively. A Memorial Service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1501 W. Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46628 on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at 12:00 noon. Rev. David Abbott will officiate. Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
