Pauline Krick Sept. 2, 1917 - Aug. 15, 2014 HAMLET - Pauline M. Krick, 96, of Winona Lake, formerly of Hamlet, passed away Friday, August 15, 2014 at Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake. Pauline was born September 2, 1917 near Hamlet, a daughter of the late Roy Shankland and Edna Hardesty Shankland. In 1935 she graduated from Grovertown High School. Shortly after graduation she married John A. Blad Sr. of Grovertown. He preceded her in death in 1946. In 1947 she married Thomas "Tim" H. Krick, who also preceded her in death. Pauline spent most of her life in the Hamlet area. She worked at the Hamlet Pioneer Store and Kingsbury Locker Plant. Later she was employed at the cafeterias at both the Hamlet and Oregon-Davis Elementary Schools for a total of 32 years. Pauline was a lifelong member of the Hamlet United Methodist Church and active with the Women's Auxiliary of the Hamlet-Davis Fire Department. She is survived by sons, John (Sherrey) Blad of Churubusco and Thomas (Sandra) Blad of Warsaw; grandchildren, Timothy Blad of Carmel and Carrie (Joe) Brady of Lakewood, CO; great-grandchildren, Christa, Stephen and Jacob Blad and Andrew and Ryan Brady; sisters, Mary Jean Ball and Anna Mae Minker. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers; five sisters; and an infant son. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. (Central Time) at the Hamlet United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Fletcher Cemetery, Hamlet. Friends may call Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.CT at the Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel and Thursday at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to the Hamlet United Methodist Church or the Hamlet-Davis Fire Department.
