Odester Lake Agnew Jan. 29, 1926 - Aug. 16, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Mrs. Odester Lake Agnew, 88, of Belle Vista Street in South Bend, Indiana, was called home on Saturday, August 16, 2014. She was born January 29, 1926, to Samuel and Annie Lake in Gunn Smoke, Mississippi. Odester was the oldest of five children. In 1955 she married Cecil Agnew. She was an advocate member of Seven Day Adventist Church. She was a godly woman who loved everyone, especially her family, unconditionally. Odester is survived by four daughters: Gloria (Lathan) Frazier, Pamela Agnew Lauderdale, and Sheila Agnew Laurence, all of South Bend, Indiana, and Beverly Winston Phillips of Indianapolis, Indiana; two granddaughters: LaTasha (L Velle) Golden, and L Shawnda (Qwanell) Wafford, all of South Bend; six great-grandchildren: DaVonn Dawson, JaLynn Dawson, JaShaun Younger, Chy'anna Dawson, Terrance Nailon Jr., L Shawn Golden, all of South Bend; a brother, Clyde Lake of Memphis, Tennessee; along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Annie Lake; her husband, Cecil Agnew; two sons: Charles Agnew and Darnell Agnew; a sister, Margaret Poindexter; and her two brothers: Curtis and Otha Lake. Services will be held today, August 22, 2014, in the Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and funeral service at 12 noon.
