April 24, 1937 - Jan. 31, 2013 NAPPANEE - Mary E. "Scootie" Bellman, age 75, of Nappanee, died Thurs., Jan. 31, at 7:04 p.m. from a short illness, at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born April 24, 1937, in Rochester, to James and Helen (Lytle) Croussore. She graduated from Bremen High School in 1955. She was a homemaker and babysat. Mary attended Nappanee Missionary Church and she enjoyed bowling. She married Glen "Whitey" Bellman on Oct. 2, 1955, in Bremen. He survives. They moved to Nappanee from Bremen in 1959. Also surviving are sons, Jim (Rhonda) Bellman of Nappanee and Todd (Michelle) Bellman of Goshen; daughters, Terri Geyer of Nappanee, Deb (Ron) Ross of Bristol, and Tammy Martz and Tina (Dan) Newcomer, both of Nappanee; grandchildren, Jan (Christy) Geyer, Dustin (Stephanie) Geyer, Daric (fiancée, Leah) Geyer, Isaac and Jacob Bellman, Amanda (Jesse) Bellman-Fritcher, Tabitha Bellman, Skye Bellman, Brittney Martz, Brett Martz, Bobby (Becca) Martz, Andrew and Caleb Newcomer, Todd (Amy) Martz, Tristan, and Chelsea (Jake) McDougle; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bob Martz; great-granddaughter, Cala Geyer; and sisters, Pat Neff and Jenny Gilpin. Friends may visit the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee today, Feb. 4. The funeral will take place on Tues. at 10 a.m. at Nappanee Missionary Church. Pastor Norm Reimer & son-in-law, Dan Newcomer, will officiate. Burial will follow at South Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
