ELKHART - Mr. Wayne A. Yoder, 64, of Elkhart, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at 12:40 pm at the Greenleaf Health Campus in Elkhart after an extended illness. He was born Aug. 22, 1948, in Elkhart, to the late Raymond S. & Waneta M. (Alwine) Yoder, & later married Pamela S. "Pam" Williams on April 3, 1971, in Elkhart, where she survives. Also surviving are his daughter, Kristen R. (Kendrick) Jordan Sr. of Elkhart; son, Jeremy W. (Shelley) Yoder of South Bend; sisters, Darlene (Rick) Pirtle of Elkhart and Marilyn (Scott) Croninger of Union, MI; his brother, Jerry D. Alwine of Petersburg, VA; and grandchildren, Brionna Barnett, Antwaan Allen, Kendrick Jordan Jr., and Michaela and Anna Yoder. A celebration of Wayne's life will begin with a visitation at Billings Funeral Home in Elkhart on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A funeral will follow on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at 11 am at Calvary United Methodist Church, 2222 West Indiana Ave., Elkhart, with visitation beginning there at 10 am. Calvary's Pastor Laurence "Larry" Smith and Pastor Rick Pirtle of Riverview General Baptist Church of Elkhart will officiate. Burial will follow services at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart, where military graveside honors will be rendered by the US Air Force Funeral Honor Guard and Elkhart DAV Post 19. Wayne was a draftsman for Miles Laboratories and Bayer, A.G. for over 40 years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and attended many of their sporting and theatrical events. He was also a fan of Notre Dame's women's basketball and served in the US Air Force. Memorials may be given to the Center for Hospice Care.
