Feb. 19, 2013 GRAND RAPIDS - Kathlyn Laura (Matthews) Schultz, aged 91, of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Schultz. Her parents were Clarence and Ethel Matthews of South Bend, where she grew up, graduated from high school, and married James Benson Laker, deceased. They were blessed with two children, James L. (Mary L.) Laker of Seattle, WA, and Judith Anne Fiwek of Grand Rapids, MI; three granddaughters, Terri A. (Keith R.) Yokum of Cutlerville, MI, Lorri L. (Mark A.) Beckwith of Three Rivers, MI, Yvonne K. Mathews of WA; great-grandchildren, Austin V. Beckwith, Paige R. Beckwith, Devon Mathews, Raylyn Mathews; a brother, David Richard (Judy) Matthews of Ann Arbor, MI; two sisters, Ruth Joan Simpson of AL, Mary Lee (Robert) Brunnenmeyer of AZ; nieces, nephews, and cousins. Kathlyn and Edward had a wonderful life in Brentwood, California. Edward was West Coast Sales Manager for the Foundry Division of the Bendix Corp of NJ for 31 years, after which he was with Fansteel. A Committal Service will be held 1 pm Saturday, February 23rd, in the chapel at Highland Cemetery, 2257 Portage Ave., South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the
